Saying Yes To These Dresses

Hello there! I hope everyone had a great weekend – how perfect was the weather here in Charlotte?! We definitely took advantage of it over here at the Williams household by working in the yard, getting some sun, and cooking out! Hopefully you guys were able to enjoy it as well!

Before I get down to business here I must add a disclaimer for all you married ladies out there – The images you are about to see will cause you to want another wedding. Vow renewal ceremonies are the thing now, right? 🙂

Okay, so as you may have guessed by now we are talking about wedding gowns today! Bridal Fashion Week took place a couple of weeks ago in New York and The Knot was kind enough to post pictures of the gorgeous gowns on their Instagram. While I was basically drooling over every photo, I was somehow able to narrow it down to 5 favorites!

1

I am dying over this princess-worthy Mira Zwillinger gown. This dress is beyond elegant – the sparkly, fitted neckline paired with the softness of the skirt is perfection!

2

Love the back of this Inbal Dror dress! The open back is sexy, without taking it too far. And don’t even get me started on the train – stunning!

3

How amazing would this Jenny Packham gown be for a beach wedding? This is the perfect example of casual elegance – simple with a touch of sparkle!

4

I am always drawn to this classic shape when it comes to wedding gowns! This blush colored Amsale Bridal dress is great because it’s traditional, with a twist. How pretty would this be with a sparkly sash, maybe with touches of gold?

5

Call me crazy, but I absolutely love this romper! How awesome would this be for a getaway outfit? Or maybe rehearsal dinner?! Plus, it’s Monique Lhuillier – need I say more?

Okay, I think that’s enough fawning for one day.

I hope everyone has a wonderful week! Check back later this week for Erin’s ‘Friday Find’!

Friday’s Find – Lashes for Days!

It’s Friday – Yippee! Once this gets posted, the husband and I are off for a weekend getaway to a quaint bed & breakfast for a little R&R (and maybe some shopping – who am I kidding? – shopping will definitely be involved). We are the type of people who like to take 3-4 small vacations a year rather than just one big one – gives us multiple breaks to look forward to from the day-to-day routine!  Excited about the 1st trip for the year!

On to this weeks Friday’s Find – all about eyelashes! Big, Bold, Beautiful Eyelashes! I have tried for years to find the best mascara to make my lashes look perfect. You see, I was not blessed with the long, curved luscious lashes that some women are (I envy those women)! About 2 months ago I gave a new mascara a try and I am so glad I did! Let me introduce you to the B.E.S.T mascara out there – L’oreal’s Telescopic Shocking Extensions Mascara!

Disclaimer – Not my eyes – but look at the difference!  Love, love, love this mascara!  If you want to have fabulous lashes of your own, run out to your local drugstore or Target and buy L’oreal’s Telescopic Shocking Extensions Mascara!  Your eyelashes will thank me!

Have a great weekend!

April Showers Bring Easter Flowers

Hi there! I hope you all had a fabulous Easter weekend! Mine was lovely – it was spent at the lake with family eating good food, chasing my puppy around, and staying up way too late. While the weekend was fun, I for one am so tired of this rainy, gloomy weather. That said, can we all take a moment to look at the weather forecast for this week?!

weather

Hello Pretty Sunshine!! Now that we have given the appropriate amount of respect to this week’s weather, it’s time to talk about Easter flowers! I am kicking off ‘Simply Southern Says’ looking at some beautiful Easter arrangements. The great thing about these floral combinations is that they can be used as inspiration for Spring and Summer wedding flowers as well!

While I am a lover of pretty much any kind of flower, I am not an expert. Luckily, the fabulous Stacey from Willow Branch Flowers and Design is! She was kind enough to share some photos of her past bouquets and arrangements and they are beautiful! So, without further ado, let’s look at some flowers!

How gorgeous are these pastel bouquets? I love the use of pale pink flowers – very refreshing! Hydrangea with roses always look so abundant as well!

I also love the idea of using bright, bold colors when decorating for Easter. The weather has (hopefully) finally turned a corner and these feel so cheery!

Stacey also suggested the idea of using a vase within a vase. You can fill the outer container with a variety of things. Maybe easter eggs or jelly beans? Or even Peeps?!

Is that not the cutest thing? Plus, it’s edible! Good thing calories don’t count on holidays. 😉

These mossy arrangements would be so pretty as a centerpiece!

Last, but most certainly not least, how stunning is this? I love this take on a spring wreath. This would look amazing on your front door all spring long!

Well, I hope you all had as much fun as I did looking at these flowers! Hopefully they provided some inspiration – there’s nothing better than fresh flowers in the house. Or Peeps.

Make sure to check back Friday for Erin’s ‘Friday Find’!

Thanks for reading!

New Assistant, New Series and Childhood Games

Colleen

 Hi, I’m Colleen!

I am super excited to be Erin’s new event assistant. I love weddings and all of the details that go into planning them. I mean, what could be more fun than helping someone plan their dream day? I can’t wait to meet you all in person, but for now I thought I would share a little bit about myself!

I was born and raised in Raleigh, NC. I am very blessed to have a wonderful family with incredibly supportive parents and a great younger sister.

C Family

When I was at the young age of 16, I started dating the guy I would end up spending the rest of my life with. His name is Matt and he is the biggest blessing in my life. We have been married for almost 3 years and have so much fun together! We love Carolina sports, eating good food, and spending time with our families.

Speaking of fun, we have the sweetest black lab named Kenan. He is my best bud!

After graduating from UNC-Chapel Hill (go Heels!) a few years ago, Matt and I moved to Atlanta as a newlywed couple. Living in Atlanta was so much fun and we made lifelong friends while there, but we were excited to move back to North Carolina last summer. Now we live in Charlotte and love it! Upon moving here, I decided that it was time to focus on working in an environment that I’m passionate about. With unending support from my husband, I started to pursue wedding and event design. That’s when I met Erin! As all of you already know, she is great and I already love working with her!

My first bit of business is spearheading a new blog series called “Simply Southern Says” (think Simon Says, but with weddings & events. When Simon Says to do it – you do, when Simply Southern Says its cool – it clearly is!!)  So check with us every Tuesday for your weekly dose of “Simply Southern Says!”
